Olympians Mike Winter and Kelli McMullen-Temple Place First and Second

at Chattahoochee Hills Horse Trials CIC 2*

Ottawa, ON --- Olympians Mike Winter and Kelli McMullen-Temple finished first and second in the CIC 2* Chattahoochee Hills Horse Trials, held May 15–17, in Fairburn, GA, USA.

Riding Unsteelable, Jim Walker’s nine-year-old American Thoroughbred gelding, Winter was in eighth place after dressage with a score of 54.6. The pair produced the only double clean performance in both cross country and jumping, which moved them up to top spot finishing on their dressage score.

“Unsteelable is a very, very good horse, and I really needed a good run to get back in the grove following Rolex,” said Winter, who is originally of Toronto, ON, and now residing in Newnan, GA. “This horse was selected as a young prospect, and it is really rewarding to train and produce such a nice horse for his owner.”

Paired with Carl Bouckaert’s seven-year-old German Thoroughbred cross gelding Axel Rose, McMullen-Temple, who resides in Round Hill, VA, was in first place following dressage with a score of 42.4. After a clear cross country ride that added 10.8 time penalties, the pair added four faults for a rail and one time fault in the show jumping round to slip into second place behind Winter on a score of 58.2.
